Long enough growing season for bushel gourds in Pa??

I got bushel gourds vines all over the place but I'm worried they won't get big enough before frost. Seems to take them forever to set fruit. I do have one long one, I guess they must round out as they grow? I'm new at growing gourds so would appreciate any advice. Thanks! Aleta

Aletaa. I have no idea of your season there in PA...but if they are dry enough when the first frost comes they will not freeze and burst.

I highly recommend the book Gourds in Your Garden, by Ginger Summit. They have it in my library too. Jo
