Heavy Duty Washing Machine?

My washing machine is on the fritz. The repairman is scheduled for tomorrow. If it ends up being something major, I will be in market for new one as this one is 11 years old. As we live on a farm, I need something heavy duty that will wash very dirty heavy clothes. Any suggestions? What about the front loads? Pros and cons of front loads? Thanks!
