Sorry I didn't see this. I have a lot of paniculatas - they are the best. Here's my Limelight - 3 years old.

Thanks Al!
Does it bloom on new growth?
How big do they get?

All of my paniculatas bloom on new growth. No real dieback - I do a little cleanup pruning once it leafs out in the spring. This one is 4' tall or so, it should get to 6' I guess. It could be maintained in the 4-6' range I think. All of my macrophyll's dieback to the ground every winter and aren't worth any high profile areas like Limelight is.
You need Tardiva too!

Very nice Al!
Do you know of a good online source for paniculatas?
Any other recommendations?
I'm all ears. :)

Hey Al, I have a Hyd. called Pee Gee or somehthing like that.
It attracted an abnormal amount of winged bugs. Thye would swarm around it all the time.
Do you know why? I transplanted to an area away from the house (because of the bugs) but I think its too sunny and dry and its not doing that well so I'd like to move it but I'm not sure if I want to move it back by the house until I can figure out the bug thing.
Any ideas?

Rose,
Klehm's is very good. I have been able to find mine locally and save a lot of money - I would look around first.

they aren't nearly as pricey as Endless Summer!
Other varieties I see around are Pink Diamond,Unique and Angel's Blush
Bloomtime wise I should have Quickfire then Limelight then Tardiva for 3-4 months of flowers.
My PG died, I do have Pee Wee- a variety of - no bug problems, it could be near a nest/hatch area of theirs.

Pink Diamond in front, Limelight behind. They do excellent in Zone 5. I would attempt to find them locally, they should be available.

Al I'm familiar with Klehms but they are usually kinda pricey?
Any other online Hydrangea vendors you would recommend?
To be honest I did not know there was this many Z5 hardy Hydrangeas...but I still might have problems.
I'm in an open to the east rural setting plus in a low lying area and it can be much colder here than urban Z5.

Very pretty Polly!

Presque Isle, MI(Zone 5a)

I have seen wonderful Paniculatas in the Grand Rapids area. I grow about 7 different kinds in the Alpena area which is about 300 miles north east of Grand Rapids. I have some to trade if interested.

What kind do you have Gary?
What do you have to trade?
Cuttings?

Presque Isle, MI(Zone 5a)

I have Little Lamb, Pink Diamond, Tardivia, , Lime Light, Quick Fire, The Swan and Unique. They are in one and three gal pots. I am looking for named peonies or make me an offer.

Gary,
How did you get extras...do you propagate them?
If so could you tell us how?
I don't have any named Peonies.

Cedar Springs, MI(Zone 5b)

Gary where did you get all those varietys?
I haven't heard of most of them.

Presque Isle, MI(Zone 5a)

I purchased , trades and mail ordered the plants from all over. Spring Meadow nursery has an excellent web site that show most of my hydrangeas. I propagated most of them my self. I also have tags that goes with the patented plants. I am always looking to trade for peonies. All of my hydrangeas are in one gal pots and are one year plus. My brother in law lives in Jenision and grows spectacular Paniculatas. One plant has about 100 flowers.

I sent you a D-Mail

West Orange, NJ(Zone 6a)

My Limelight is lagging behind my others (BlueBird, Amethyst, Brestenburg, Nikko Blue, and one I forgot the name of! Limelight is the only Paniculata, the rest are Macrophyllas. Why is this? I'm in zone 6a, and Limelight is my first Paniculata.
