staining hypertufa

Port Orchard, WA(Zone 8a)

I found an easy way to age my new hypertufa pots, without all the work of painting or other methods that take more work. I buy iron oxide at my local feed store, then I'll take about a cup of the ferous oxide to about a 1/2 gal of water, mix it up, then brush my pots with the slurry, they will turn an aged rust color imediately. be carefull not too much or they will get too orange. experiment for the look you want. I've also made my own walkways with concrete forms then brush the stuff on them. it took that new concrete look away. you only have to do this one time. the stain is permanent. good luck, hostajim1
