Gourd ID

I grew this gourd from seed along with a variety of other gourds. The ID I had for this was a basket gourd but I think I got it mixed up with an Egg Gourd (which I will be VERY happy with!). Can anyone confirm this is an egg gourd and if so, do I let them go until the vine dies and the gourds dry before I pick them. Do they turn white or are they painted?
