Deadhead penta?

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

How and to where do you deadhead a penta? Or do you deadhead it at all? I have mine in a pot on the patio, it has been blooming very well, but is starting to look ragged with all of the dead stuff.

My daughter Jenna (6) really loves this plant, and I'd like to keep it looking nice for her. I searched thru the forums, but I didn't find the information I'm looking for.

thanks,

I treat it the way I do pelargoniums, just cut off the dead flower stalk down to a leaf node. Good luck, aren't they wonderful plants?

You can save the seeds and start some for next year too.

Also, you can take cuttings and root them too.

I love pentas too

Good to know about taking cuttings. Is there a place on the stem that is best to cut? I just added 5 to my garden to fill in some bare spots. They were on sale for almost nothing and are tall and skinny from being packed close together, but blooming nicely. I want to save them for next year.
