Orange Iris? You bet!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

This one is for llilyfan who likes who colors to pop---Firebreather TB is as orange as it gets!

Aphrodisiac TB--hard to spell, but unforgettable in your garden. A true orange with white to accent it!

Maid Of Orange is a border bearded--a shorter iris that blooms at the same time as the taller ones. Great color!

I haven't yet found a bright orange TB that can survive in my garden, though STARSTRUCK is a toughie. It's a softer orange and not a reliable bloomer, but there's no arguing its hardiness.

Fun, isn't it? peeking into each other's gardens from a distance?

Then in the historic category there is SON OF STAR and FLAMING STAR. I personally think these are the same iris but one has just a touch more pink in the haft area than the other.

Flaming Star

SON OF STAR is described as intense orange. It is when you catch it in just the right lighting. Otherwise it looks just like it's parent, FLAMING STAR above.

All Right IB (Intermediate) is a nice early orange accent in my beds.

ASTOUNDED is proving to be a reliable IB for me.

Autumn Echo has tiny specks of rust in it, but I still think it qualifies as an orange...

Anyone have iris of any type they just want to be rid of? I will gladly pay postage for any that someone would send . Prefer no more whites, blues or purples tho. We have lots of them. If you don't know the name it is ok. My DIL who lives about a block from us across the pasture loves iris and we would share. They have only been married a year and she is just really gettng started on her flower beds this year.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

leaflady, check with me next spring--I refuse to dig anymore iris this year. Time for them to hunker down & get ready for coming cold weather.
