Found this 2 inch long bug stuck in my watering can as I was watering this morning. He must have found his way into my rain barrel. Any ideas what it was? Here is a belly view.
There sure is a wealth of info at this site, thanks so much for all the work that is done to keep it up.

Drowned Invader
It looks like it might be a long horned beetle (though it seems to have lost its antennae) which is in the family Cerambycidae. Because of its size, my guess would be that it is in the subfamily Prioninae.
Go here and see if any of these look like your critter... http://bugguide.net/node/view/5094/bgpage .
Night_Bloom, thanks so much for the heads up. this like looks just like my?? critter. I guess one will never know what they will find floating in a rain barrel.........Joy
