I have seedpods on my plant. I don't know how to tell if they are ready to be harvested or not, and I also don't know if they will even grow true?
Anybody know?
Fern Leaf Peony 'Rubra Flora Plena' Paeonia tenuifolia
I think they'll split right open when they're dry, Joan. At least my regular peonies do so I would presume the fern leaf would act the same - but - not speaking from experience, just assumption. No clue if they would come true from seed. :) What have they done by now?
They're still hanging onto the plant. I'll keep an eye on them. Thanks.
Update?
Well, I'm embarassed to say I have no idea what happened to them. I was watching them, then we got busy with other things and by the time I remembered to check them again, they were split open and no seeds. In hindsight, I should have bagged them. Next year I will do that.
Oh, don't u just hate that - those seeds really do disappear in a hurry once that pod splits. LOL and if I didn't say it before, congrats on the UBER, Joan. That's great!
Thanks Kooger. :)
