Hi, everybody--
After reading and looking at all the postings on the Perennial 'Color Echo' thread, I (finally) planted my porch urns with Elephant Ears Nigrens, white and purple phlox (that echo the purple and lilac shadowing in the elephant ear leaves and stems), and japanese painted ferns that pick up the hues in the E.E.s.
The pic doesn't show much of the color nuance, but I think it makes a pretty good combination. And particularly with the shadings in the brick wall...
If you are interested in the 'color echo' concept, have a look at Pam Harper's book about it, or the thread has lots of good pics and sites mentioned, btw.
Happy gardening. t. :-)
My new 'color echo' perennial pot...
I love it!!!! Thanks for sharing!
Very lovely tabasco! Also really loved the planting you posted on the "Show your container gardens.." thread. The color echo in the calla and dark leaved plant with the chartruese was fantastic. That pic would be great here to. Thanks for sharing! Neal.
