I know this thread is typically for plants, but I was hoping someone could help.
I found this beetle on my garage this morning, it is HUGE, an inch and a half or so, dark brown with creamy white stripes.
Kinda looks like a potato beetle, but bigger and sort of different colours.
I just want to know if it is gonna kill trees in my "woodsy" neighborhood....
CLOSED: Not the usual
Cucumber or Potato bug?
Your beetle is a male of the Ten-lined June Beetle - Polyphylla decemlineata http://bugguide.net/node/view/23229/bgimage
The enormous clubs on the antennae identify it as being male.
Thank you so much! Good to know it's not a tree killing pest of some sort! I shall return him to the world right now!!!!!
