just wanted to brag... this whole set i trhought was inviable until i doused the mounds and they all sprouted... same happened with my watermelons. these are the first blooms of the season and the one on the far right is female! i've already hand pollinated it and i'll let the flies do any extra pollination if they please. I only have one type of pumpkin growing so i'm not too scared of cross-pollination.
cucurbita maxima "lumina" first blooms!

You mentioned cross-pollination; I could be wrong, but I don't think your seeds from your fruit will be true-to-type - I'm pretty sure Lumina is a hybrid. (But the seeds could make for an interesting experiment next year ;o)
