Hi all! This spring I purchased three baby Nelly Moser Clematis vines from Spring Hill. They arrived in great condition and I planted them by my patio. They all started vining and climbing right away and then suddenly two of the plants have stopped growing at a height of about 3 feet. The leaves look good, but the place where the new vine growth is supposed to come from is brown and crispy. They have not grown for about 3 weeks now. I know that clematis like to have cool roots so I added another 3 inches of mulch around the base of my plants. Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch,
