johnson's blue geranium spring planted, no flowers

Havertown, PA(Zone 6a)

Hi. These new plants are doing well but no sign of flowers yet. Should I expect flowers the first season? Should I think about moving them to more/less sun? The bed they're in is mostly sunny, with light shade in the late afternoon. Day lilies and sunloving annuals are doing well.

hi there

there is no reason why the geranium hasn't flowered. the season is just about over for JB so there is little chance of flowers now.

was it grown in a pot or was a cutting/division that some one have to you. a cutting will take longer as it has to work on it's roots first. a division may be too young.

Suky, I planted a geranium plant last year and did not get hardly any blooms, but this year it is loaded and has been blooming constantly since early spring. Maybe yours is just getting the roots established this year so that it can show off next year.
