Scarlet trumpet vine - Distictis buccinatoria - seeds?

El Paso / Canary Isl, Spain(Zone 10b)

We have a number of these beautiful red flowered vines here at the island, but I´ve never seen a seed bud.

Is this because all plants come from the same clone?

What about these trumpet vines in California or Mexico, do they produce seeds?

Please help

Peter

So beautiful, I have seen an orange distictis with yellow on the outside of the trumpet in the Berkeley area in California but never this bright red. These are an outstanding plant. I don't know about seeds but what about cuttings?

Cutting do, but not easy.

But I´m a seedsman and want to refresh the clones.

Well, I hope they produce some for you. Chiltern's seed in the UK has all kinds of seed; maybe you could check them out.

That is a gorgeous color and flower! Maybe it doesn't make a seed pod like you think it should. It could be the little part after the flower falls off....but what do I know. If you have find any seeds you know who would luv some.

I just received some red trumpet seeds from an E-Bay auction... they come from a lady on Chincoteague Island... and I believe sale somehow benefits the Shore Care Medical Transport there... as they were listed on my Paypal receipt..
I'm not real sure of the red/scarlet diffrence here... but we'll see ...
