Deadheading irises
Snap at ground level, because if you cut and have any diease at all it will spread from one to another.

To deadhead iris snap them off where they join the stalk just below the base of the flower. To remove spent bloom stalks (meaning no more flowers left to open) snap them off a the rhizome by bending them toward the rhizome or center of the clump.
