and feeling, but be forlorn, this tree or shrub,is a nasty runner, you think bamboo is bad,
I'm growing this as a standard looking tree.and keeping the smaller runners looking like tree ferns beneath the tree, plus the red fruit adds beauty and color.

Little closer look at the fruit.wished I would have gotten a picture of the trunk, which is about 8 to 9 ft now, very fast grower.

so I've noticed... :)
3 or 4 years ago I decided I wanted one of these. Then I noticed a stand on an empty lot that was for sale and now zoned commercial. So I slipped in there and dug a couple out. They'd probably be more invasive except they're on the west side of the house; only get a couple hours direct afternoon sun; the neighbors (behind them) NEVER water or fertilize and since this is a strip on the side of my house, they don't get lots of water. Just the same... it's started popping up along this bed.

Yours are coming along very nicely, but I think in a couple more years they will be coming up all over that strip of land you have.
