Have any of you ever grown this variety from Burpee? I have grown bush beans for more than 30 years but I have never had quite the yield off the first flush that I picked from these today. I have 120 feet of this variety planted and I picked two heaping full 18qt buckets off them today. It just boggled my mind. (Especially since I had been getting good steady production off Contender for over a week whilst these just puttered along seemingly.)
Bush beans 'Heavyweight II' variety
Have not tried that one, but Contender is a steady performer for me. Yours look good. How about adding a comment and some pictures to the Plantfiles.
I added a comment and that picture. I'll get a picture of the vines to add in a while. I'd been talking bad about these beans since Contender started producing so well cause they just didn't seem to be behaving like I expected. It looks like this one matures in a larger quantity all at once although the vines still have small beans on them and also loads of new blooms.
