Something is killing impatients

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Mom's impatients are dying off from the top down. What is it ? Bug or disease? What can we do?

Have you pinched off the dying part of any of them? Are they new ones you bought, or did they reseed? Same place in the garden as always? Same amount of water as usual? Hmmmmm!!!!!

Since you fear losing them anyhow I'd cut them back to about an inch tall and hold off the watering! You should know very soon if it was root rot or if they spring back.

She hasn't had them in this location for 2 or 3 years but they have always been great in this spot. She's done the same thing as always I guess. It's almost like the tips were frost bitten - but there's no way that could have been the reason.
I'll try clipping off the tops.
Thanks,
Kathy
