add something to my soil to make it more acidic or use miracle grow acid to water them with once in awhile?Thanks,Jody

It's true that most beardless irises (exclusive of Spuria) prefer acidic soil, but beardeds do fine in a fairly wide range of soil pH from moderately acidic to moderately alkaline. There's no need to acidify soil for beardeds unless your soil in extremely alkaline.
