A few June flowers in my Rock Garden

somewhere, PA

Here's a few pictures of my rock garden today. Aquilegia Bertolonii is the
big blue bloom. and the pale lavender is Pennstemon Hirsutus Pygmaeus.
Still some lewisia in bloom - and I have tons of babies this year! I'm just
so proud :-)

And lastly, just a "pretty in pink" combo of carnations, pennstemon
and soapwort I couldn't resist posting too

I love your "pretty in pink" combo, especially the kitty escaping from it. What's the pretty flower in the white pot?

You've got to post that blue aquilegia in the blue flower thread of the Perennials Forum. Everyone there will love it.

Lovely display Tammy.....It will be mid-July before my plants reach your stage, as I'm still in spring mode. My first Penstmeon are budding and the only Aquilegia open for me yet is A. flabellata (see the blue perennials thread) and A. viridiflora.

I'll go find that blue thread right now!

Zuzu - the pot has a dahlia w/purple folliage & a yellow sweet
potato vine. I'll take some pic's of my containers & post 'em
on that forum. They turned out really well this year.

Todd - I've never seen most of the plants you post and every
one is a winner! Many of my aquilegia's are all bloomed out -
the ones in my rock garden are behind the rest (maybe coooler?)

Your plants are beautiful!.....but.... your rock wall has stolen my heart! Any rocks we have here we have to buy, and they are VERY pricey. I want a large one as the center for my shade garden, so I go to the rock yard and just window-wish. Never thought I would want a rock in my stocking for Christmas. LOL

Thank you Pati!

I'd offer to mail you some rocks but the postage might be a bit pricey :-)

The previous owner called this place "Stoney Acre Farm" and it was a
good name. I love the old field stone walls & buildings too. (The barn &
Springhouse are both stone as is the 1848 addition to the house). When
I dig a new bed, there's more rock than dirt. I have a huge stone pile
at the back of my property now and will need to find a new spot 'cause it
is really huge. You're welcome to any you like but ya gotta pick 'em up.

Tammy--love your blue flowers and your blue windowframe. Very pretty! t.

You've got a great eye! I hadn't picked up that the blue of the
window was also in the shot.

No, you're the one with the great eye! I love that blue, and I'm not usually a blue lover (always think it's for blondes!)...

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

Something wrong with blondes?

Cincinnati (Anderson, OH(Zone 6a)

no, no, nothing wrong with blondes at all! I just tend to stay away from blue and tend more toward the warmer colors since I'm a brunette!

It never ocurred to me to think that way about color until my MIL (who is an artist) told me I should stop wearing blue, so I did it, and actually I'm happy for that advice (and I usually don't 'take' to her suggestions!) ! ;-)
