Green Bugs! Yikes!

Sunnyvale, CA(Zone 9b)

I see tons of little yellow green bugs on my summer squash blooms. They seem to go away once the flower blooms and start shriveling away, but boy there are tons of these on opened/newly opened blooms.

Are they harmful? Should I do something about them?
I took a photo and the bugs look really big in the photo but they are actually only about 2mm (slightly smaller than a grain of rice.)

Help!

Aren't those aphids? Maybe someone in Garden Foes would know for sure, did you post there? Try relocating some lady bugs, or spray the blossoms with soapy water (gently)...

Hi Tamara!

Good to see you (well, I can't see you but you know...)
No, I only posted this is organic gardening and vegetable gardening.

I will post this on Garden Foe. (Thank you for this.)

P.S. By the way, as you suspected, the squash issue was with pollination. I happened to be able to hand pollinate one and it got HUGE.

cool dogs! Now get rid of those bugs, please :-) See you in the foes forum. For good learning and reading, try Friend or Foe?, lots of info and close up pictures (not for the squeamish), I believe there are three threads on that now...

Yep, they're aphids for sure. Just happened upon this thread because of the catchy "Green bugs!" title. But they are aphids.
