I read somewhere (Jerry Baker, probably). To mix 1 cup lemon scented ammonia, 1 cup lemon scented dish soap in a 20 gallon hose end sprayer, fill the remainder with warm water & apply to everywhere you want to mosquitos to flee. It really worked! My backyard is VERY shady and the kids and I were getting ate up by the little buggers no matter what time of day. I used less ammonia - I was afraid to burn my grass & plants. It says to repeat 2-3 times a week. So far, once a week is doing the trick. At least we are not getting bit during the daylight hours now. (I've not been out there after dark - no lights out there.
