Iris color change

Well I may be going crazy but Im sure my purple iris changed color over winter time..it is now a clump of yellow and purple iris where it used to be just purple...Do they change colors sometimes?..Ive never heard of this before but my girlfirend said hers did the same thing this year...Judy
