Rylaff,
Those sure are pretty. I don't know anything about Balsam-touch-me not. Guess I will have to get some of these. I love the way the flowers go up the stems. Really different!

I am so glad to see this picture. Now I know what I have.

I planted some seeds and didn't have a label - I've had at least 100% germination in these saved seeds - now I see that they are balsam, touch-me-nots.

I must remember to always label seeds in the future. :-)

We've had them but they spread their seed a bit too much for us. In a woodland setting I'd love them.

I think the reason they are called touch Me Nots is that if you touch them when the seeds are ripe, they spit them at you! They are a fun plant. I have not grown them for a few years, but always have liked them.

rylaff,
I hope you really like 'em because you'll have them form now on- LOL!! I too grow impatiens balsamina- AKA "touch me nots" and love them. But this year I have pulled up probably thousands of seedling in my beds. You can snip off the seed pods or just pull up the plants before their jet-propulsion sends them all over your yard.
