hardy canna for zone 6 NJ?

Is there any hardy canna that I can grow in NJ, zone 6a? I really do love canna.

If your point is that you don't like digging them up then just put a piece of wire mesh under them with the edges just barely out of the soil so you can just lift them up in November.

If you plant the more hardy cannas along the foundation of a heated building (i.e. your home) ..especially at a southern exposure.. and if you mulch heavily in fall, those type cannas may just survive your zone 6 winters. I have had them make it a few times in this scenario (o:

Abutilon - I've had them survive over warm winters when I've forgotten to dig them.

Now I have them up against the vegetable garden fence so they don't get any residual heat.

I may test out whether mulching, covering with a nursery pot and a brick on top will allow them to survive, here in Zone 7.

Thanks. I will try it out this year. I bought some in the HD, I will plant them aganist the foundation.
