help with easiest irises to grow

I have some wild yellow bog iris and "blue flags" which I guess are the wild Virginia iris. But neither is blooming well. They haven't been planted so long that they are crowded. How do you fertilize them and how often? Any other ideas? Both are in partial shade and my climate is cool.
