Flower gender

Is this a male persimmon flower, or a female? I'm guessing male, but want to know for sure.

Male persimmon flowers typically occur in groups of three while females are solitary, but they look about the same otherwise unless you do the incredible shrinking thing and climb in for a very close look.

Ok, so the male flowers should be in groups of 3. I'll watch for that. What should it look like if I sliced a blossom in half?

Melody I'm assume you are talking about the American Persimmon, Here is web site with information you may find handy

Great link! That shows better in one illustration what it would have taken paragraphs to describe.

Thanks!

Now I know exactly what to look for. I can add images to the PF now.
