Over the years I've had some computer techs and salesmen strongly advise me to turn off my computer if I'm going to be away from it for more than half an hour, while others have been equally adamant in recommending that I never turn the computer off. One tech told me that the only computers he sees in the repair shop are the ones that are turned off repeatedly during the day.
I've opted for an intermediate stance: I leave the computer on all day and turn it off at night. What do the rest of you do? Do you have good reasons for your choices?
