What would make marigold leaves purple?

Shenandoah Valley, VA(Zone 6b)

I'm hoping it's not some glaring soil deficiency or surplus, esp. since it's in the bed with my carrots.

Mount Angel, OR(Zone 8a)

Seems like they kinda can look purpley while they are adapting to being transplanted and it seems here if it is on the cooler side they can look purpley. I don't think it is really anything serious.

Springboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Light frost has turned the leaves on several of my annuals a purpley color. The new growth on a few perennials, too.

Midland, TX(Zone 7b)

I believe that the purple is because the soil is still cool. They will green up when the soil warms.

Relief! Thanks...
