Just purchased my first "black" Iris...."Before the Storm" it is velvety black to the naked eye...however you can detect the purplish tint in the camera lense...here it is as the star ofmy bouquet I gathered tonight...the bloom stem had broken off so I just planted the fan for next year...isn't she gorgeous!

I have three of the Before the Storm and they are so beautiful, mine was really jet black. I loved it this is the first season for it for me. Got it last fall and planted it.
