feeding petunias

Woonsocket, RI(Zone 6b)

Does anyone know when you can start feeding petunias that are just forming buds and growing from seed?

What are you growing them in? If it is seed starting mix, I usually start weak feedings when they have two sets of leaves. If they are in potting soil, I feed them when they start blooming, unless there is food in the soil already. Haven't grown any in the ground yet, but that would depend on how rich your soil is I guess.

I stared them in seed flats. They have many leaves on them with buds. It was just light weight seed starting medium they were in. I don't think there was food in them. I will try a weak solution of food first,
Thanks for the info.

You should start feeding them from they are very small. If you have not fed them yet, you can start now. Use 1 tbsp of 5-10-10, or 1 tsp 15-30-15, 20-20-20 etc per gallon of water. Apply with every watering.
