Lilacs

cape may court house, NJ(Zone 6a)

I have a neighbor who has a Lilac bush that's so beautiful.
It has so many blooms you can barely see the branches, it's awesome.

Hopefully someone has a method of rooting .
Thanks,

You could have it grafted next winter/spring. Forget about trying to root a cutting.

Better, send a photo and description to the Lilac Society (Google for an address) and ask if anyone can identify it, then go buy one. Or find the nursery called Syringa Plus, run by the former propagator of the Arnold Arboretum.

Look around the bottom, There are probably some small shoots. Lilacs are very easy to 'transplant' that way. Pull carefully, and cut off. Rooting hormone, but don't hothouse it. Or put right in the ground.

I got a beautiful persian purple that way. In a hedge in front of a country club.
