Please help save my BP

Ladson, SC(Zone 8b)

Hi.....we planted this Bradford last year. It's been thriving since then. Today I noticed that some of the leaves are crispy looking on the ends and are a bit curled. Please suggest what I can do to correct this problem. I really like this tree. I am also having the same problem with a riverbirch that we planted about a month or so ago. I'm sending pics of both.

Thanks a bunch, Angie

It might be a touch of frost damage, or stress caused by some hot, windy weather or by improper watering or planting. Hard to tell from the photo, but just keep you eye on the new growth forming now and see if it looks normal.

More importantly, if this is still a very young tree you have the opportunity to do structural pruning each year to prevent it from self-destructing in ice/wind down the road. If you fail to do this every year, count on it collapsing from poor limb structure in about 10 years. Left to do its own thing, BP is a beautiful but notoriously weak tree -- the butt of tree jokes worldwide.
