First open at Shadowood!

Deer River, MN(Zone 3b)

Here they come!!!

First open (not including the one that bloomed in my basement in March), as usual, my little friend ...

CAUTION SIGN (George Sutton, 1996) SDB

CS is consistently my earliest to bloom every year since it first bloomed here in 2001. The earliest it has ever opened before is 5/14, so it's a full week ahead of schedule - amazing given the week+ of deep freezes that just ended a couple of days ago! OH BOY, this gives me hope that all that freezing weather might not have damaged all the other pregnant little MDBs and SDBs I have out there!!! YIPPEE!!!

Congratulations Laurie! You deserve some Iris. And this is a beauty. You've spent a lot of time looking at what's up in the rest of the world from your zone 3 world. Now it's your turn. Enjoy!

Laurie--Caution sign looks like it's worth the wait! I can't wait to see more of your collection in bloom.

At the Iowa Round Up today, llilyfan was treating many of us to the SDB "Making Eyes". Each blooming root had 6-10 babies attached. You can bet they were all snatched up quickly!

My dwarfs are inishing now, but I can't wait to see the ones you have to show us!
