Has anyone had success managing fire ants? I have been going around with Amdro treating each mound, which is very labor intensive. According to Auburn University, Amdro can be used in pastures. But the ants soon come back. I have heard there are predators of the ants which are being researched but I don't know if they are available to individuals. The pasture is not crossfenced so I can't keep the horse off the pasture while I treat it.
I am a city girl who recently moved to a rural area so I can have my horse--so I can use some help when it comes to farm life.
