i planted a small raspberry bush last year. by the end of the season it had taken over a 7' by 7' area. this spring i took out the main plant and some of its runners. well of coure it is still growing outward like crazy. i was out working on it yesterday and noticed that it has already spread into the lawn. ugh! and is headed under the fence to my neighbors yard. double ugh!!!
how can i get rid of this monster? i am going throught the soil and taking out every little bit of root and stem i see.
? do i have to be real careful and get every piece of little tiny white roots? or just the white underground stems and the main brown roots?
this stuff goes down a foot in many areas.
? is there a poison i can use to kill it? i'll let this bed go without whatever for however long it takes to get rid of the raspberry bush and the poisons i might use.
? should i just shovel out all the dirt for 15" down and send it off to the dump? and replace with new soil. ?
i'm DESPERATE!
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
