I had my black sapote in a pot that always feels dry on top but usually stays wet inside. I'm not sure that my sapote liked it so I took it out today and put it in the ground... to be dug up again in the fall and potted.
The roots were black, is this normal? They were like this last year when I repotted, I trimmed them and it grew a lot better. This year it looks like it did last year before I trimmed the roots, which was mostly leafless and black.
Black Roots?
