I am planning to plant a small vegetable garden along an existing 15 yr old fence. I would like to have the pole beans grow up the fence. Since the fence is still in good shape, I am assuming that it is comprised of some sort of pressure treated wood. Is there any danger of toxins leaching through the soil?

The best way to find out what is and isn't in your soil is to get your soil tested. Most soil tests are for nutrients - but it is possible to test for toxic elements and compounds as well.
