Making your own window cleaner

I was reading in a copy of "how to clean practically anything" that the most effective window cleaners are homemade. They posted two recipes by the consumer's union - a lemon juice formula and an ammonia- alcohol version. They said their testing indicated that vinegar wasn't that good.

Has anyone every used a homemade window cleaner - what did you think?
