confederate jasmine climbing a tree?

Does anyone think I would have a problem having confederate jasmine climb a palm tree? Do you think it would strangle it and kill the tree?

It shouldn't hurt it. Down here they plant all kinds of things around palm trees and they grow just fine.

There are a lot of vines I wouldn't recommend on a palm, strangler fig comes to mind. I see no reason why not a confed. jasmine. I've considered planting some on a magnolia tree I have... Let us know how it goes.
