RR rules?

Loveland, CO(Zone 5b)

I've been hoping to get in on a RR, but then I caught a picture of one sprawled out on a table. I see that all those seeds are people's personal seeds they've collected....

I don't know how to collect seeds yet (though I hope to try). I'm wondering if this exculdes me from participation. No hard feelings, just don't want to get into it without doing it right. :) Thanks :)

Sarah

P.S. Also, how do you get in before it's filled up?! This seems to be another problem!

Welcome to DG!!

Most of the robins that I have been in seem to have some commercial packs included. Just check with whoever is starting the robin when you sign up to make sure store bought seeds are allowed. As far as getting in on time, just keep watching this thread!! Usually once a robin is posted, the host will set a cut off date when sign up ends.

Hope this helps,
Deb

Hi! Glad to have more round robiners. I just joined in Jan. and I've been in a few robins and even started one myself. My seeds are commercial seeds that I've split the pack. Some people have collected seeds and commercial. There are templates here on Daves to make your own packets or you can use those little coin envelopes. Most packs have 10-20 seeds unless they are really big seeds.
Here are two that I don't think have gone out yet.
This was the scrapbook paper one. It's seeds of all kinds and scrapbook paper. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/495996/
This one is an after the garden round robin. No seeds, just stuff you use after gardening like lotions and stuff.

Sheran is starting both of them you can email her by clicking on her name and asking if it's too late. We've been talking about a flavored mint swap but nobody wants to host it yet. We are still working on Sheran(our robin queen) Tee Hee!
Have fun!

For most of us, commercial seeds are just fine! The object of this game is to ENJOY!!!

OH, and by the way, WELCOME!!!!

Like Sarah, I'd like to get in on the next RR too. I'll be keeping my eyes open for it. Here's a cute idea, maybe one time we can include handmade plant markers with the seeds. Please keep me in mind for the next one, too. Thanks!
