Obviously this is an iris but I dont know what kind, the foliage seems more prone to disease than my other iris and now I have this bloom on a short little stalk. What is this stuff ? The bloom is light purple though it may look a little blue in my digital photo.

remember that weird foliage I had.....now I have a bloom
It looks like some type of crested iris. Tectorum, perhaps? I'm not personally familiar with any of the cresteds other than cristata.

It sure is a beauty! Check the tectorums here.

To me it looks like l. tectorum or Freckletec. I am trying to find out more info. seems it can take very different conditions from my regular TB so I plan to move it soon :)
I have some of these. They do great in a boggy area, around a pond, etc. They're commonly called Roof Iris.
Hey, I have some of those - given to me by a neighbor. I have them basically sitting on the ground instead of in the ground, and they're blooming like crazy. Little beauties, aren't they?
