Chaste Tree/Monk's Pepper: Care?

Shreveport, LA(Zone 8a)

I would appreciate information about the care of a Chaste Tree (sometimes called a Monk's Pepper). I am especially interested in knowing two things: If I dead-head the spent blooms will it bloom again? Once the blooms have faded, how do I collect/store the seed? Thanks for any help.

Hi Bear, I believe these trees are very care-free. I planted a 'Shoal Creek' Chaste tree just this past Spring and it has been blooming like mad for several weeks. I haven't removed any spent blooms yet, but was also wondering whether I should dead-head. If I'm not mistaken, though, this plant blooms most of the Summer regardless of whether it is deadheaded.

I find for me it has one main flush of bloom. After that it will flower sporadically from the side shoots. Cut the seed heads off, they will not fall off on their own. I didn't do it last year and now I have new blooms amongst last years dead bloom stalks. Most unattractive!
