Just wanted you to know that I was looking. Do you have any idea where they came from or when they were purchased?

Just wanted you to know that I was looking. Do you have any idea where they came from or when they were purchased? The second looks like it might be 'Aggressively Forward'.

I chose this image because the colors were closer to yours than the one in the plantfiles.

i dont know where they came from. i found them in a trash can at the dump and thought id take the chance.

it sorta looks like that but i dont think so.

Good trash! I've been through several files and I haven't found them. At this point, scrolling through the plantfiles is probably the best approach. If you think that they might be very old there are a few places to look.

Good luck! If I come across other possibilities, I'll let you know.

both very pretty, especially the second. wish i could find trash like that.

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

You found those in the trash? Wow! What a find! I agree with doss that the first one looks a lot like Aggressively Forward http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/17052/. Your second one looks similar to Arizona Moon http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/58400/index.html or Art Show http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/56383/.

the coloring is similar but not quite the same when you actually look at it.

there was a third one but didnt get a pic. the third one was all the color of Doss pic of the first one. the rosey color in that iris was the color of my third one i didnt get a pic of.

i always am looking in odd places for plants. i look at walmart and kmart and places like that. they throw so much away behind the buildings. some still alive just needing care.

Wow what great pictures! Those are beautiful! Great idea, trash hunting!

Funny, trying to describe colors. If the photo is close, then don't worry too much about the color. I can't get anywhere near the black color that 'Hello Darkness' really is in a photo.

But you could keep looking. What store was this dumpster behind?

my brother works for the city and they have a local dump site. he called and asked would i be intersted and i said yes.

the trash can they were in was a blue metal one without a name. but i know they only pic up from like the dept stores out of the blue metal cans.

its really orangy like the pic and only about 1 ft and half tall. it might b an old one and just dont know.

i was surprised to see them this morning. watered yesterday and todat had blooms.

i know what you mean about color. i still havent gotten a black one yet.

18 inches tall is a huge hint. This is probably an intermediate. Or an early border bearded. My intermediates just stopped blooming so I assume that yours are just beginning. There just aren't that many Intermediates. Do your other Iris bloom later?

Could it be 'Sonoran Sands'?

i do have some that bloom at differnt times. i have a few that even bloom in sept.

most of my spring ones are just now blooming. i have some still waiting to open. the orange one is smaller comapered to those. in flower and height.

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

If you have some that bloom in September, that's an even bigger hint. Those are rebloomers and much more easily identified. We might have more success there.
