After several private and a couple of public requests to reprise the original thread with a new version in order to make it more friendly to dial-up customers. I happily comply with your requests. We've started the stairwells after finishing the retaining structure portion of this project. The horizontal railroad ties will be the actual risers and treads of the steps into and out of the garden. Paving will be a mixture of pavers (colored concrete), antique terra cotta (from colonial Mexico), and other flotsam and jetsam that tickles our fancy and doesn't make the walkways too industrial looking or too organized. Intentional chaos would be a lovely theme word...lol.
