I miss my iris and clematis. I did manage to get blooms from Japanese and Louisiana iris this spring, but we don't have enough cold for the Siberians. Your flowers are beautiful!

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Thank you. It is a challenge keeping the clematis roots cool enough here. I can imagine it is nearly impossible there.

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Beautiful flowers everyone! It's a purple extravaganza!

Lisa, have you tried shading your Clematis roots with a flat rock? That way it will stay moist and cooler.

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I was using mulch, but that is a great idea. I have a bunch of pea gravel.

Ocean Springs, MS(Zone 8b)

Lisa and Terrie will you please stop, blue is my favorite color in the garden and now I am thinking about driving to Florida and Texas in the middle of the night to raid some gardens. LOL
