Niobe is a gorgeous plant! I used to have one and just loved it. Afraid clematis wilt got it a few years ago. The color of mine would vary greatly depending on the temperature. Sometimes it was almost a black/wine other times a more red color. I had it planted next to another clematis that was white with a wine streak and they looked very nice togehter.
