groundcover?

Coeur D Alene, ID(Zone 5a)

I want a ground cover - can be any height, but something that spreads quickly, can smother other weeds, takes full sun, and doesn't look like a weed. Any ideas?
Thanks!

I'm not that this will fill all of your requirements but you might try a patch and see

They grow alot of "Snow in Summer" around here.

Thanks. I've seen that around - i'll try some. The yarrow would be nice too.

be careful with the yellow yarrow. It can get out of control.

I have some red yarrow if you would like some. It's less invasive and is quite pretty. You still have to keep an eye out though.

I would love to try some. Is there anything in particular you'd like to trade?

Mara,

I gave all of my remaining seeds from last year away - but mine (red yarrow) are getting ready to bloom soon, and afterwards I will have some seeds. I'll save some for you. Did you need some of the Snow in Summer or can you get that? I don't have any, but my neighbor does, and I could get some from her, for you. I don't really have any room for trades right now - I'm going to re-evaluate one of my gardens and may re-do some of it, but haven't decided yet what I will do. I may just do some divisions. Don't worry about a trade - you are close by, it's no big deal.

I would love some seeds when they are ready for the red yarrow. It ends up that the fence now provides afternoon shade, so I don't need such a hardy plant... I decided it's going to be a test garden to see what grows well. :)
