My brother-in-law has a large 7-8' cactus that he wanted me to help him cut down. I was hoping to find someone to rescue it before it came to that point. I checked the net and believe it is some kind of yucca, but I have no idea exactly what kind of Cactus it is. I could identify it out of a mug book (lol). Old cactus that would make a great landscape feature for someone out there.

From your description it would be a real treasure - wish I had room for it! The cactus section at the Botanical Gardens might have a spot for it, or the Master Gardeners might know of someone who would like to adopt it. Also, there is a cactus society here in town that likely can offer suggestions. I hope you can find it a new home - yucca blossoms are beautiful.
